After completion of Dan's PHD in philosophy from Emory University and completion of Burton's Master in Latin American agrarian reform from theUniversity of Virginia, both brothers who had always liked one another, decided in 1983 that a better idea would be to work together, "calling our own shots",and started our own business. Painting, wood finishes, and interior trim carpentry were our first business trades and by 1988, Metzler Bros had 5 employees. Our local reputation for quality work, honest dealings, and willingness to attend to the details led to greater job volume and today Metzler Bros. employs 14 skilled tradesmen. Seven employees have more than 15 years of service with Metzler Bros and four have bought homes in the local area. Metzler Bros. excels at integrating company skills to complete exceptional construction and remodeling projects in the residential and commercial markets
